MAG-1 inter-municipal MSW landfill is located between the cities of Nizhny Novgorod and Dzerzhinsk. The landfill designed for disposal and processing of municipal solid waste (MSW), bulky and construction waste was put into operation in 2012.
MAG-1 is a large-scale and complex engineering facility significantly reducing the negative impact of waste on the environment. The filled up separate landfill areas (sites) are subject to recultivation.

The landfill project was prepared after a long period of research, consultations with the best European and American experts, the study of innovative technologies and trends in landfill construction. Preparing the project, we faced a number of “myths” and “superstitions” prevailing among Russian officials and management of municipal companies.
